An Exponential growth

What's behind the food excellencies of Emilia-Romagna, behind the stereotypes that crown the latter as the land where to eat well and find unique traditional products, elements that make the region the star at Milan Expo dedicated to the topic of food? The answers to this question are in the second episode of "Expo da Vicino" (Expo up close) with the telling of the agro-industrial system in Emilia-Romagna and how its innovative components, continuous evolving and momentum abroad support the excellent food, ensuring sustainability and safety, preserving the traditional values ​​making them at the same time competitive in international markets. The episode then tells about the initiatives and the work of the Region of Emilia-Romagna to represent this production system at Expo and to ensure that the territory was ready to receive and be at its best for visitors to the Milan event. The video informs about calls dedicated to businesses, chain projects, regional fairs, programmes to engage businesses to open their doors to foreign delegations, and the main events organised in Milan to promote and tell the regional production system and to affirm the regional choices regarding food safety, sustainability and biodiversity. Emilia-Romagna, a land with a high quality of life (ITA)

Italy has to become the leading global producer of quality of life and Emilia-Romagna will have a key role in this. It is a vision, but also a concrete working project by the entrepreneur Nerio Alessandri of Technogym. This was discussed at a conference in Rimini, which was dedicated to the opportunities created by Expo for Romagna, that was organised by Apt servizi and Resto del Carlino: there are various projects presented by the Romagna area to attract tourists for #Expo2015. Participants included minister Galletti, the president of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Stefano Bonaccini and the regional councillors Messers Corsini and Petitti

Milk for life (ITA)

Emilia-Romagna’s presence at Expo also represents solidarity, international cooperation and a model of sustainable development. The first thing from Emilia-Romagna that visitors will see when entering Expo is CEFA (European Committee for Training and Agriculture), a Bologna-based NGO. It will be housed in the Zero Pavilion, with its Africa Milk Project. Only five projects have been selected, from around the world, as examples of best practice for feeding the planet.

Emilia-Romagna, the future’s already here (ITA)

With less than fifty days to Expo opening its doors, there is one thing for certain, and that is that Emilia-Romagna will lead the way in telling the millions of visitors to Expo 2015 in Milan about Italian excellence. This was the firm belief of all those who attended the “50 days to Expo event”, organised by the Region and the Resto del Carlino newspaper, as part of the Bologna daily’s celebrations for the 130th anniversary of its launch.

The “miracle” of the Via Emilia (ITA)

A presentation of the APT services project entitled “Via Emilia, Experience the Italian Lifestyle”. This consists of around eighty tourist packages, specifically designed and put together for Expo 2015 in Milan and they have as their common denominator, the Via Emilia, the road that has linked Rimini with Piacenza for the past 2200 years. For Expo 2015 Milan, there will be only one name when it comes to excellence in tourism, art, gastronomy and nature, and that is: Via Emilia. This is the project presented by the APT (Tourism Promotion Agency) and the Emilia-Romagna Region, with outstanding endorsements from well-known chefs Massimo Bottura and Massimo Spigaroli and the art historian, Philippe Daverio.

Tourism as an Export

What is the connection between the Milan Expo and the Adriatic Riviera for all the tourists who will come to Italy attracted by either? It is the Via Emilia, the road which was established 2,200 years ago by the Roman consul Marcus Aemilius Lepidus and chosen as Emilia-Romagna's main brand to promote the entire tourist/cultural system of the territory. This third episode of the Expo up Close relates how the region has chosen to not represent the many outstanding regional features separately and independently, but as a single product that includes good meals, the unique products that characterise them, places and culture that have inspired them and have kept them unchanged over time. The Emilia-Romagna Region is told to tourists through 80 dedicated touristic packages, a call for the aggregation of tourism enterprises funded by €500,000, more than 300 visits by foreign journalists and traders and more than 600 events including food and wine, music, culture and art, as well as a substantial presence in Milan with entertainment, demonstrations, tastings and a virtual map to explore. In the episode the point of view of the Councillor for Tourism Emilia-Romagna Region, Andrea Corsini is also expressed.
