Tourism as an Export

What is the connection between the Milan Expo and the Adriatic Riviera for all the tourists who will come to Italy attracted by either? It is the Via Emilia, the road which was established 2,200 years ago by the Roman consul Marcus Aemilius Lepidus and chosen as Emilia-Romagna's main brand to promote the entire tourist/cultural system of the territory. This third episode of the Expo up Close relates how the region has chosen to not represent the many outstanding regional features separately and independently, but as a single product that includes good meals, the unique products that characterise them, places and culture that have inspired them and have kept them unchanged over time. The Emilia-Romagna Region is told to tourists through 80 dedicated touristic packages, a call for the aggregation of tourism enterprises funded by €500,000, more than 300 visits by foreign journalists and traders and more than 600 events including food and wine, music, culture and art, as well as a substantial presence in Milan with entertainment, demonstrations, tastings and a virtual map to explore. In the episode the point of view of the Councillor for Tourism Emilia-Romagna Region, Andrea Corsini is also expressed.
